This strawberry oatmeal smoothie is ideal for breakfast during weeks of intensive training. You can get started on this recipe from sports nutritionist Stephanie Scheirlynck straight away.

Serves 1:

  • 125ml low-fat yoghurt
  • 4 tablespoons oatmeal
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 10 strawberries, in pieces
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Ice cubes (optional)


Put the yoghurt, oatmeal, banana, strawberries, vanilla extract and honey in a blender and mix until smooth. If you like your smoothie ice-cold, add some ice cubes.
